Anzac Day @ Inverloch

It's only April, but I can say that I've made the best purchase of the year - a beach tent. When we were holidaying in Lorne several weeks ago, I noticed that some people had this curious little beach tents up on the beach. I thought it was a brilliant idea and bought one from Aussie Disposals for about AUD89.00. It says that it's sun-proof, but what it doesn't say that it really is sun/wind/rain/stinging sand-proof as well. It's snug and small and retains heat well, so although it's cold outside, you're nice and warm inside. And bringing one to the beach means that we don't have to worry about finding a place for Evan to has his afternoon nap. Just wrap him up and make some bedding for him using a comfy blanket and he's all set.

Jojo practising her golf swings. It's a pretty big sand-pit trap though...

April was one of the last chances we have in Melbourne to enjoy some sun, so we headed off to Inverloch beach on Anzac Day. The whole family really had fun; we packed some sandwiches and played on the beach. Afterwards, Evan napped in the tent and we sipped hot tea while admiring the great ocean view. Jojo went absolutely wild (as always) the moment she landed on the sand and she must have run a few kilometers between the water and our tent that day. She really is a beach nut and we must do more of this next summer.

Beach sandals - $20.00.
Watching her kick them off the moment she steps on the beach - priceless.
