How to reward your child

For the past weeks, JoJo has reverted to not wanting to feed herself when she is at the dinner table. She would want to do most things on her own. So, we'll hear lots of 'I'll do it', but when it comes to feeding herself, all we hear is 'You do it'.

KK came up with an idea to curb this behaviour. What she does not finish during dinner, she'll have to eat the same thing the next day for breakfast and subsequent meals until she finishes it herself. I guess we just didn't want to scold, shout or threaten her to eat since that wasn't working either. So far this new technique has some wins, but sometimes she much rather keep dinner for breakfast. Guess she knows when she is not hungry.

Anyway, tonight, this technique worked. And Daddy rewarded her by watching her 'Lionni Classics' dvd which we borrowed from the library on her bed. JoJo, of course loved every minute of it. She fondly refers the dvd as her '5 stories' dvd since it has five stories in it written by Leo Lionni.
