Before bedtime tonight, JoJo and I looked through a recent "Toy Sale" catalogue from Myers together. It was interesting to see what caught her eye.
"What's that, daddy?" she asked, pointing.
"That's a robot called 'Optimus Prime'."
"Ottimus prie," she repeated thoughtfully. Next page, barbie dolls. She skipped those to the next page.
"What's that, Jojo?" I asked, pointing.
"Spiderman," she replied without pause. We flipped past the Little Pony section to the Legos.
"What's that, daddy?"
"That,"I said, "is a Death Star."
"Deth Sta," she murmured. We went through the Dora DVDs.
"So, what do you like, JoJo?" I asked after a while.
She pointed at a toy laptop. "The computer."
I think my girl has my taste in toys! :-)
