Last night, JoJo said her first prayer by herself:
"Thank You God for Emus, and Kangaroos, and Joeys. AMEN!"
Till now, she's always preferred to clasp her hands together and close her eyes (for about 5 seconds before getting bored and fidgetting around) and then joining in with a rousing "AMEN!".
It looks like emus still top her list of favourite Australian animals, probably because of the 'Emu Attack' incident last year when we went to the Philip Island Wildlife Park. We were in the emu and kangaroo enclosure and I was carrying JoJo while Cynthia was pushing the empty stroller along. Seeing a photo opportunity with me and JoJo in front of an albino kangaroo, Cynthia left the stroller behind. With a bag of feed on top of it. In the midst of a group of hungry six-foot emus.
Fortunately, the stroller survived the vicious attacks from the emus, and JoJo has been fascinated with emus since. Probably thought that they were much cooler than the sleepy-looking kangaroos.
