Yummy dinner at Auntie Catherine and Uncle Bala's houseIt is the Year of the Pig and we celebrated New Year Eve with my mom's best friend Auntie Catherine and her husband Uncle Bala. They both prepared a wonderful meal and we had a lovely time feasting and catching up with them.
This Chinese New Year has been particularly hot. The tempreture soared to 38 degrees! On New Year's Day, we did the traditional receiving/giving of Ang-Paus to the family. Theereafter, we went to the Crown Entertainment Centre and checked out their Chinese New Year celebrations and decorations around the Southbank area. Jojo got to see some pigs and wanted to pet the "big one" (the mother pig) rather than the piglets. Inside the Crown, we caught the fascinating light -and-sound show which featured a huge, automated moving dragon.
All in all, it was a nice Chinese New Year celebration where we had my mom here with us in Melbourne.
